Ambrose take down Broncos at Ralph Klein Center
Olds suffers straight set loss
On Saturday evening at the Ralph Klein Center the Olds College Broncos dropped their secnd straight match to the Ambrose Lions, this time in straight sets (25-19, 25-20, 25-19).
Adrian Strandberg took home player of the game honours for the Lions, connecting on seven kills, while Tarren Dion was given player of the game for the Broncos.
The Lions jumped out ahead of the Broncos early, taking a 5-2 lead thanks to solid hitting from the left side.
The Broncos stayed with the Lions for the rest of the set, but would eventually falter, down 19-13, and take a timeout. A few points later the Lions took the first set 25-19 after a service fault.
The Broncos battled hard with the Lions in the second set, but yet again the Lions were able to get the upper hand, sustaining a five-point lead for most of the set.
Olds didn't have an answer for the hitting game from the Lions, who took the second set 25-20.
The Broncos were able to match the Lions play for most of the third set, tying the Lions at 17. However an 8-2 run would seal the deal for the visiting Ambrose, taking the match in straight sets.
