Bio
Allan Siwela joined Olds College as Head Men's & Women's Soccer & Futsal Coach in January 2022.
Prior to his arrival at Olds college, Siwela served as the Assistant Soccer & Futsal Coach at Medicine Hat College from 2017-2018 and again in 2021. While on the Rattlers staff, Siwela helped coach the Women's squad to the 2017 and 2018 ACAC Championships where they won Gold medals. With the Men’s team, he helped them to the top of the podium in 2017 as Gold medalists.
An accomplished student-athlete prior to his coaching career, Siwela starred at both the CCAA and U Sports levels for the Medicine Hat College Rattlers from 2011-13, 2016-17 and the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns from 2013-15. While with the Rattlers as a student-athlete, Siwela was awarded CCAA All-Canadian honours in 2011-12 to go along with being named to the ACAC All-Conference team and an ACAC Bronze Medal in soccer. He followed up his strong freshman campaign with a solid 2012-13 season where he was honoured once again with an ACAC All-Conference nod and an ACAC Bronze Medal, this time in futsal.
After his first stint playing with the Rattlers, Siwela transferred to play with the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns Men's Soccer program from 2013-15. Siwela holds a Bachelor of Management degree in Human Resources from the University of Lethbridge and a Business Administration Diploma from Medicine Hat College.
Siwela is a Canada Soccer - B License Part 1 certified coach and is currently in progress to becoming a Canada Soccer - National B Licensed coach. In addition to his post-secondary coaching duties, he has served in multiple coaching roles with various youth soccer associations across Alberta. He has held positions as Coordinator of Player and Coach Development, Boys Club Director, and head coach for Alberta Summer Games (2018) and Alberta Winter Games (2020).
