Bio

With a lifelong dedication to high-performance sport and student-athlete development, Rachel brings a wealth of experience and passion to the role as Athletics Manager. Her journey in athletics began on the ice as an NCAA Varsity hockey player, where she learned the discipline, resilience, and teamwork that now shape her approach to leadership.

Prior to this role, Cunningham served as both Head Kinesiologist and Head of Strength and Conditioning, where she led comprehensive programs focused on optimizing athletic performance and long-term athlete development. Her work as a Career Practitioner further deepened her commitment to supporting student-athletes beyond the playing field—helping them build confidence, career direction, and personal success through sport.

Cunningham believes in creating a supportive, high-performance environment where athletes thrive both on and off the field. Having been immersed in elite sport throughout her life, she understands the challenges and opportunities our athletes face, and is deeply committed to giving back to the next generation.

As a proud Central Alberta local, she is equally passionate about growing community-based athletics and fostering a strong sense of local pride. She shares this journey with her husband and two young daughters, who are already developing their own love for sport and healthy living.

She leads with purpose and passion—and is proud to help shape the future of athletics in our region.
