Broncos get back-to-back wins

The Olds College Broncos (2-4-1) won their second game in as many days on Sunday afternoon at Tiny Lafleur Field in Carstairs, taking down the Red Deer College Kings (1-5-1) by the score of 2-0.

Abiodun Owolabi, who's errors on Sunday were few and far between, was the best Bronco on the field in the game, scoring the game winning goal and constantly controlling the team's offensive play.

Owolabi would open the scoring for the Broncos midway through the first half. On a scramblish looking play in front of the oppositions net, Owolabi made an athletic play on the ball, sweeping it past the keeper to put his team up one early.

Daniel Ribeiro de Abreu would add another for the Broncos minutes later. After Jacob McLarney was taken down in the box, Abreu stepped in to take a penalty kick. Abreu made no mistake, making the keeper miss and putting his team up two.

Most of the second half was spent in the Broncos end, but while the Kings won the possession battle, the Broncos kept chances to the outside and came away with the victory.

Owolabi was given player of the game honours for his performance for the Broncos while Colton Childs won the award for the Kings.

Both teams get Thanksgiving off before returning to action on October 14, with the Broncos hosting SAIT and the Kings hosting Medicine Hat.
