Broncos Women’s Hockey won 4-1 at home

Olds, AB 

The Olds College Broncos won 4-1 at the Olds Sportsplex over the SAIT Trojans on Thursday, February 10, 2021. 

The first twenty minutes of play saw the Broncos out shooting the Trojans by 14-12. It was busy in the penalty box for both the Trojans and the Broncos. Both the Trojans and Broncos had 6 minutes each in the box. The SAIT Trojans opened the night's scoring with the first goal at 14:10 scored by 21, Reauna Blight and assisted by Elisa Erhardt and Janey Wilson.  The period ended with the Trojans leading 1-0. 

A busy start to the period saw the Trojans headed to the box followed by the Broncos. Things quieted down in the middle of the period and picked right back up in the final minutes of the period. Olds College Broncos scored their first goal at 18:58 which was scored by Jerika Pashniak from Ali Macaulay. Shots in the period were even at 13-13 with the score tied 1-1 heading into the third period. 

The Broncos lit it up in the third period scoring three goals. The first goal was scored shorthanded at 2:27 by Maddy Black from Jesse Jack and Sydney Jack. The Broncos third goal was scored by Hailey Hoogkamp from Maddy Black and Danielle Corrigan at 15:10. The final Broncos goal was scored at 17:44 on the powerplay assisted by Danielle Corrigan. Shots in the period were 18-9 for the Broncos. With the final score being 4-1 for the Broncos. 

The player of the game for the SAIT Trojans was number 21, Reauna Blight and the player of the game for the Olds College Broncos was number 18, Danielle Corrigan.

Olds College Broncos will be back at the Olds Sportsplex again on Thursday,February 17, 2022 as they take on the  Red Deer Polytechnic Queens.
