Paton, Oyeleye earn ACAC soccer All-Conference recognition

With the regular season complete, a pair of Olds College Broncos soccer players earned individual hardware for their play and achievements, as the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) announced its All-Conference selections for men's and women's soccer on Tuesday.

For the second consecutive season, forward Tiona Paton earned an ACAC South All-Conference selection, once again finishing fourth in the ACAC with 12 goals, which was also good for second-best in the ACAC South. The Broncos women's soccer captain also stepped up her play on the defensive side of the ball, showcasing herself as a more complete player while still generating offensive opportunities.

The Morinville, Alta. product is in her third season of eligibility, and she is in the Bachelor of Applied Science - Agribusiness program at Olds College of Agriculture & Technology.

Meanwhile, in his rookie season, midfielder Iyinoluwa Emmanuel Oyeleye also picked up an ACAC South All-Conference nod, as he performed consistently all over the pitch for the Broncos over the course of the season.

Originally from Ikeja, NGR, Oyeleye is studying Hospitality and Tourism Management in Olds.

Both Broncos soccer teams saw their seasons come to an end on Sunday on home field against the Ambrose University Lions; the 2023 ACAC Soccer Championships are being hosted in the Edmonton Soccer Dome beginning on Thursday, with hosting duties split between the NAIT Ooks, The King's University Eagles, and the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder.
