Broncos’ Thibeaux sisters and Allen-Gullion selected to ACAC South All-Conference Teams

MEDICINE HAT, AB (March 4, 2020) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Brittney Thibeaux, Brandi Thibeaux and Michaela Allen-Gullion of the Olds College Broncos have been selected to the 2019-20 ACAC Women's Basketball South All-Conference Teams.

Sisters Brandi and Brittney Thibeaux were named to the ACAC South First-Team All-Conference.

Fifth-year transfer student-athlete, Brittney Thibeaux was selected to the ACAC South First-Team All-Conference for the third straight season. Brittney had another fantastic season leading the Broncos as one of the team captains and being an example of hard work ethic. She had one of the most balanced seasons, statistically, that an ACAC basketball student-athlete could have. She ranked in the top ten in almost every statistical category, highlighted by ranking first in field goals with 215, third in field goal percentage with 50.8%, second in points and points/game with 526 and 25/game, fourth in rebounds  with 207, second in defensive rebounds with 139 and second in blocks with 49. She also set an ACAC record with 130 career blocks.

Thibeaux is a 6' guard from Lake Villa, Illinois. She is studying Sports Management and previously studied at North Dakota State College of Science.

Brandi Thibeaux joined her older sister, Brittney on the ACAC South First-Team All-Conference. Brandi had a great year in her first season at Olds College. In her second year of eligibility, she was a catalyst on the back court for the Broncos as the starting point guard. She led the ACAC with 84 steals, and ranked second in the ACAC (tops in the South) in minutes played with 779 (37.1/game), sixth in field goals with 137, 11th in FG percentage with 47.1%, 14th in defensive rebounds with 107, sixth in points per game with 16.0, and set a new ACAC record in assists in a season with 149.

Thibeaux is a 5-6 guard from Lake Villa, Illinois. She is studying Business Management and previously studied at Johnson County Community College.

Michaela Allen-Gullion was named to the Second-Team All-Conference.

Fifth-year guard Michaela Allen-Gullion finished her career with her best season and was rewarded with an ACAC South Second-Team All-Conference selection. She was a team captain and was an important part of the best offense in the ACAC. She led the ACAC in three-point field goals with 78, while having the eighth best efficiency from behind the arc at 34.4%. She also had the third most assists in the ACAC with 96, ranked tenth with 52 steals and ranked fourth in the ACAC with 18.4 points/game

Allen-Gullion is a 5-4 guard from Calgary, AB. She is studying Sports Management and previously studied and competed at St. Mary's University.

These awards were presented to Brittney Thibeaux, Brandi Thibeaux and Michaela Allen-Gullion at the 2019-20 ACAC Women's Basketball Championship Ceremony held on Thursday, March 4 at Medicine Hat College.
