OLDS, Alta. - Not even a thick layer of snow could cool off the Olds College Broncos women's soccer team.

Following an hour-long weather delay, the Broncos took full ownership of the pitch en route to a 5-0 victory over the Ambrose University Lions at Richardson Pioneer Field on Saturday, keeping pace in the ACAC South standings.

Felicia Rodney (Calgary, Alta.) picked up her second straight hat trick, while Paige Whitehead and Shawnessy Mark (Edmonton, Alta.) also scored for the Broncos (3-1-1).

Auslin McDaniel-Perrin (La Grande, Ore.) was seldom tested, making a pair of saves to earn the clean sheet while Janelle Perry stopped eight shots for Ambrose (1-2-1).

Once the field was cleared of snow and ready for play, the Broncos hit the ground running, as Whitehead notched her first ACAC goal in the second minute to put Olds ahead early.

The Liverpool, UK product continued her strong touch on the ball, connecting with Rodney for her seventh of the season to double the Broncos' lead, which held through halftime.

Olds kept its foot on the gas in the second half as Mark kickstarted the offence in the 60th minute, corralling a rebound after Rodney hit the crossbar before finding the back of the net to extend the Broncos' lead to three.

From there, Rodney connected twice more, giving her nine goals for the season while earning The Pit Player of the Game honours for the Broncos; Lions captain Bethany Herman earned the honour for Ambrose.

After completing a five-game homestand, the Broncos hit the road for the first time this season as they battle the SAIT Trojans in Calgary at noon tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Lions will finally have their home opener next Friday, as they host the Red Deer College Queens at 4 p.m.
