Hallock keeps game close as Broncos win streak ends

The Olds College Broncos women's soccer team lost 4-0 to the Lethbridge College Kodiaks in the "Local Student Appreciation Game" Saturday, Sept. 21 at Richardson Pioneer Field.

Lethbridge struck early in the game with Dairy Holmes breaking through off a lead pass from Haylie Shoults and shot the ball to the right of sprawling Olds goalie Jewels Hallock.

The teams went back and forth the remainder of the first half.

Shots at halftime were 20-4 for Lethbridge with shots on goal 10-4 for the Kodiaks, and both teams had a corner kick.

Lethbridge extended their lead when Holmes gave a lead pass to Christine Moser who shot the ball far side and into the net past Hallock.

Bryce Sherring extended the Lethbridge lead when she took a pass from Olivia DePasquale and had a scramble goal in front of the net.

Hallock made a brilliant save minutes later to keep the Broncos in the game before Shoults took another feed from Holmes to make the score 4-0 with 22 minutes left in the game.

Player of the game for Lethbridge was midfielder Jasmin Salmon and the Pit Barbecue Player of the Game for the Broncos was defender Kassidy Kelly.

Shots were 36-7 for Lethbridge with Olds goalie Jewels Hallock making 15 saves and Lethbridge's Micaela Stone making five saves.
