OLDS, Alta. - Two quick strikes from Kerigan Frampton midway through the second half broke the game open for the SAIT Trojans, eventually leading to a 3-0 victory over the Olds College Broncos in the Broncos' home opener at Richardson Pioneer Field on Sunday.

Meaghan Wiebe added the insurance marker for SAIT (2-0-0), who completed a perfect six-point weekend.

Mirtalem Vriend, making an emergency start in place of Kaia Galuska, was busy in goal for Olds College (0-1-0) with 13 saves, while Erin Mergen registered the clean sheet in goal for the Trojans.

The Broncos held the Trojans in check through the first half, with both teams heading into halftime scoreless and the Broncos hanging on despite SAIT having a 17-2 edge in shots.

However, the Trojans' depth made the difference in the second half as Frampton, who entered the match as a second-half substitute, broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute by just rolling one past Vriend, then adding another two minutes later after grabbing a Wiebe rebound at the top of the 18-yard box.

The Trojans put the match on ice in the 83rd minute after Wiebe took advantage of a quick-strike free kick to round out the scoring.

Frampton was named player of the game for the Trojans, while Kelsey Juengling was named The Pit BBQ Player of the Game for the Broncos.

The Broncos will head south next weekend to face the Lethbridge College Kodiaks (Saturday at noon) and Medicine Hat College Rattlers (Sunday at noon), while SAIT will play in Medicine Hat on Saturday before hosting Lethbridge on Sunday at noon.
